Aberdeen Foyer – New Dates for Self-Management Course

The next self-management course starts on 2nd of November and run every Thursday from 10am to 2pm for 10 weeks at the Marywell Centre, Marywell St, AB11 6JF. There will be a Christmas break from 14th December, and we will continue on 11th January. Anybody over the age of 18 who lives in Aberdeen City and has a long-term health condition is welcome to take part. Free lunch and refreshments will be provided.

The Self-Management Programme is tailored to address various aspects of self-management, including but not limited to:

  • Effective goal-setting (SMART goals) and action planning
  • Increasing the understanding of their condition and symptoms
  • Developing resilience and managing stress
  • Developing personal confidence and self-awareness
  • Meeting others who are on a similar journey

The programme will also include tutor sessions on financial inclusion, employment, pain management, sleep and yoga/ meditation/ relaxation techniques. All participants will be invited to engage in accredited learning and can gain the City & Guilds Introductory Award in Employability.

We are now also running Monthly Self Management Workshops. These are for participants who have previously attended the course or are interested in attending the course in the future. The first one will run the 9th of October 12pm – 2pm at the Marywell Centre. It will be very informal, and teas, coffees and biscuits will be provided.
